BondSpot S.A. S.A. was incorporated in January 2006 under the name Centralna Tabela Ofert S.A. on initiative of 20 largest Polish banks and brokerage houses. The company is a member of the WSE S.A. capital group since November 2000. Guided by the need to integrate the brokerage and banking environments, the businesses of Centralna Tabela Ofert and Polska Giełda Finansowa (Polish Financial Exchange) were consolidated in the second half of 2001, and the merged business was continued under the CeTO trademark. Potential attained by CeTO in result of becoming a member of the WSE Capital Group (presently WSE has a 31.1% stake in BondSpot S.A. S.A.) and consolidation of bank shareholders within the company, proved to play a decisive role in establishing the Electronic Market for Treasury Securities. Success of this market heavily contributed to growth of other markets for different debt instruments managed by CeTO. CeTO established a strategic alliance with the MTS Group in May 2004. In result, name of the company was changed to BondSpot S.A. S.A. by resolution of the General Meeting of Shareholders, and the Italian MTS S.p.A. was approved as its new shareholder (holding a 25% stake in BondSpot S.A. S.A.).

BondSpot S.A. is a unique in Poland institution holding a license for operating a regulated off-stock exchange market and able at the same time to create electronic trading platforms in securities and financial instruments on the non-regulated market (i.e. market not supervised by the Polish FSA).

Growth strategy adopted by the Company presently provides for two main fields of business:

  • The BondSpot Poland market – the treasury bonds and treasury bills wholesale trading market. It forms an integral part of the Treasury Securities Dealer System created by the Ministry of Finance. The market employs state-of-the-art technologies implemented on the leading European treasury securities markets. Use of a uniform trading platform allows foreign dealers to transact on the Polish market. This makes BondSpot Poland a part of the global bonds trading platform.
  • The BondSpot Securities Market (regulated off-stock exchange market). This market trades primarily in debt securities. Listing on the BondSpot Securities Market gives issuers access to a wide group of investors, first of all institutional investors. It also generates higher liquidity of the listed instruments and allows better market pricing, being of particular importance for institutional investors who are obligated to perform daily assets valuations.
